Island Canopies officially entered the Barbados event space on Friday, December 5th with an intimate launch event at Clifton Hall Great House. This milestone marked the debut of the island’s first authentic Sperry Tent and engineered hardwood event flooring, introducing a new level of luxury to weddings, celebrations, and villa events across Barbados.

Throughout the day, final preparations took place beneath the tents at Clifton Hall Great House. As the sun moved across the estate, the ivory sailcloth glowed softly against the landscape—lush palms, manicured grounds, and the venue’s signature pink creating the perfect contrast.

At dusk, guests were welcomed by the warm, familiar sound of steel pan by Andre Forde. Inside the 46’ x 86’ Sperry Tent, attendees experienced:

Hardwood flooring that elevated both comfort and aesthetic
A soft interplay of natural wood, ivory canvas, and open-air ambiance
Signature triple peaks and flag posts visible from the exterior

As night fell, lighting installations transformed the space—bistro and string lights in our 46’ x 86’ tent and onion lanterns in our 46’ round—casting a golden glow across the canvas. Deejay Jesse T kept the atmosphere lively as industry insiders explored the tent, learned about our offerings, and connected with peers.

Elevated Food and Beverage to Match the Mood

Executive Chef Damian Reid of Baobab Kitchen curated an elegant menu of canapés, including:

Vegan Tri-Bean Chili Bowls with Green Plantain Crisp
A rotating selection of seasonal bites

Raising the Bar provided seamless beverage service throughout the evening, ensuring every guest felt well taken care of.
